Witness: D.C. 9/11
Through raw sound and video, Witness: D.C. 9/11 reconstructs the morning of September 11, 2001 and its aftermath in Washington, D.C., as first the nation—then the nation's capital—came under assault. this one-hour documentary captures the mix of confusion, fear, panic, and chaos that shook the city, and in turn, profoundly affected America’s response to the day's events.
The program details the attack on the nations capital moment by moment entirely through home video; fire, rescue and police footage; and news coverage. Footage from the Pentagon crash site taken shortly after impact captures a raw view of the devastating aftermath. Meanwhile, cameras throughout the city document the chaotic evacuation of congressional leaders and other officials from the Capitol and White House.
Premiered on the National Geographic Channel September 6, 2010.
