BBC- 9/11 Conspiracy Road Trip
Andrew Maxwell takes five typical young British conspiracy believers on a road trip from New York to Washington to try and tackle the truth about the events of 9/11.
This September marks the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, one of the biggest terrorist atrocities of the 21st Century. Nineteen hijackers, all members of Al Qaeda, crashed four planes on American soil, leading to the deaths of 2,973 innocent people.
This horrific event has generated a multitude of conspiracy theories that contradict the official findings of the US government's investigation into the events of that day.
Andrew Maxwell, a comedian, believes in the findings of the official investigation, which claim the responsibility for the attack lies with Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. He thinks the conspiracies theories are unsubstantiated nonsense. So in this film he offers to take five young Brits, who believe some of these conspiracy theories, on a road-trip from New York to Washington. They visit Ground Zero where two planes hit the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, home of vast American defence HQ and Shanksville in Pennsylvania where United 93 crashed.
Each of them believes different elements of the conspiracy theories. Charlotte, a North London nanny who witnessed the attacks, thinks the American government is responsible. She can't believe the hijackers, barely out of flying school, could have steered jetliners into the Twin Towers with such deadly accuracy. Rodney a health worker who studied biochemistry suspects the collapse of the towers was not caused by the planes that went in to them and he wants to get to the bottom of the science. Student Emily, an active member of the 9/11 Truth Movement, thinks the US government was forewarned of the attacks and yet ignored the intelligence allowing it to happen. Shazin, a qualified surveyor, wants to find out how the passengers on United 93 could have made phone calls to loved ones from a plane. And Charlie, an ex-banker thinks 9/11 was an excuse for the US Government to go to war with Iraq. Andrew Maxwell thinks all five of them are wrong and wants to change their minds by confronting them with the facts. So as the bus criss-crosses the east coast of America he tries to convert them to his point of view. He wants to prove to them that 9/11 was no conspiracy and that sometimes the truth, whilst not easy to accept, is staring you right in the face. In order to do so, he takes them to meet experts, the chief air traffic controller on the day, demolition specialists, voice morphing engineers and he gets them to conduct scientific experiments and even fly an aeroplane.
Finally they meet a mother who tragically lost her son, to listen to her account of what it was like to live through this monumental tragedy. Andrew believes it is easy to judge world events from the safe distance of a computer screen in your bedroom but not easy when you are brought face to face with the real human stories behind them Andrew Maxwell fights an exhausting battle for the truth and in his mission to convert his fellow travellers there are rows, falling-outs and tears. But there are also moments of tenderness, empathy and warmth.

Jesse Ventura - Fake Phone Calls Claim Debunked
"Jesse Ventura's second season finale of "Conspiracy Theory" ended with an episode concerning what happened at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Among the many fraudulent claims made in the television program, Ventura included a segment dealing with the ridiculous claim that fake phone calls were made from aboard the hijacked planes that morning, further purposing the idea that the calls were actually created by voice morphing technology. Jesse Ventura called upon forensic audio expert Kent Gibson for a demonstration of voice morphing technology during the show. I had a conversation with Kent concerning his appearance on Ventura's show. Mr. Gibson had some very interesting things to say about the fake calls claim, Jesse Ventura and his Conspiracy Theory show. The ludicrous claim of faked phone calls on 9/11 is also being pushed by others including prominent 9/11 researcher David Ray Griffin." Jeff Hill www.pumpitout.com

Don't Quote Me: Truthers And Quote Mining
For 9/11 conspiracy theorists, the anniversary of the attacks functions as a PR peg for spreading their version of what happened that day. National Geographic Special: 9/11 Science And Conspiracy
America watched in horror as the events of September 11, 2001, unfolded before our eyes. Now, eight years have passed and no stone has been left unturned in the painstaking process of piecing together what happened on that fateful day. Yet according to a 2006 poll, 33 percent of us still do not accept the U.S. government's account. Were the attacks really the work of just al-Qaida terrorists, or is it possible something even more sinister was at work?
On Monday, August 31, 2009, at 9pm ET, National Geographic Channel's "9/11: Science and Conspiracy" conducts a forensic investigation to test the tenets of some of the most common conspiracy theories. Did the Twin Towers really collapse from the fires, or did explosives inside cause the buildings to implode? Was the Pentagon hit by a missile, and not a commercial airliner? And why do so many people believe theories like these?
The government's official version of the events has been consistent: Hijackers commandeered commercial jetliners in a highly coordinated attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon that took the lives of some 3,000 Americans. Now we hear from a group of theorists, dubbed the "9/11 Truth Movement," who believe the official version is not only inconsistent with reality, it is impossible. Some even go so far as to suggest that the U.S. military plotted a colossal scheme to replace hijacked plans with remotely piloted rogue planes. And their seeds of doubt have spread widely around the world and across the internet.
"Our country, our government and our mind-set as a whole would not be where it is today without 9/11. And I don't think it's by accident, I think it's by design, " says Dylan Avery, theorist and director of the popular 2005 Internet-based documentary "Loose Change."
Using high-tech forensic experiments, CGI re-creations, eyewitness footage and in-depth analysis by experts and theorists on all sides of the story, "9/11: Science and Conspiracy" examines the alleged conspiracies and available evidence.
Many theories exist that contradict the official findings, covering many aspects of the worst terrorist attack on American soil. Of these, a handful have been persistent: The fires never got hot enough to deform the steel in the WTC towers and cause their collapse; there was an insiders' conspiracy to bring down the towers with a controlled demolition made to look like an attack; the Pentagon was really damaged by an explosive missile or a bomb instead of a jetliner.
Architect and "Truther" Richard Gage: "We're not conspiracy theorists. We're looking at the science-based, rational facts found at the crime scene and otherwise available to us...It's up to the American people to demand a real investigation with subpoena power that may reveal who may have done it, how they did it, what are all the surrounding circumstances."
Finally we look at how and why conspiracy theories persist in our culture despite the official government reports, as we recall American suspicion around other national tragedies such as Pearl Harbor and JFK's assassination.
Journalist and author David Aaronovitch: "I think there are very common threads to conspiracy theories, both in the desire the people have to tell them, the feeling they get at the point when they say then, and duplicate them...the desire that there is to have a story which is better than reality, than messy reality. I think these things are almost eternal."

Theories? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Theories!
Excerpt from the updated BBC The Conspiracy Files, 9/11 - The Truth Behind The Third Tower program. Truthers don’t need a plausible theory or a coherent narrative of what happened on 9/11/01 because they’re “just asking questions” and, according to Dylan Avery, they don’t want to be “backed into a corner.”
